Nantucket Island

Nantucket Island is known as one of the most unique, historic and visually stunning places in the world. Designated as a National Historic District, little has changed architecturally since the 17th century when the island was a booming whaling port. Seaside cottages and old-fashioned lamps still line the streets. And, the great harbor front remains one of the finest docking facilities known.

A summer, and off-season destination both, visitors to Nantucket enjoy wide sandy beaches, assorted water sports in Nantucket Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, outstanding cultural offerings, boutique shopping and best of class dining. And, with nearly 40 percent of the island protected conservation land, many simply relax and admire nature's beauty.

Without question, whether a visitor or long-time resident, there's no denying the allure and unforgettable appeal of the island-style way of life on Nantucket.
